Young Leader
Our Young Leader gives students a chance to experience exciting and rewarding activities as a vehicle to develop personal, social and work-related skills:
- Students will learn about themselves and develop an understanding their own ability to tackle challenges
- Students will learn and demonstrate the skills and techniques needed to motivate themselves
- Students will reflect on and gain an understanding of their own ability to develop and grow through adventure.
Who is it for?
The Young Leader Award offers learners the first stepping stone in leadership skill development. Learners gain experience of organising and leading small games and activities for their peers, and are supported to start the development of the skills needed to take on greater responsibilities.
The award is recommended for learners aged 11+ years
Course content
Through this fun and flexible programme, learners will build their confidence and resilience, and develop their leadership skills.
Commitment
Typically this course is delivered over 12 hours of Guided Learning Time
Certification
Students who complete the course and the work will achieve the LEADERSHIP SKILLS FOUNDATION Young Leader Award
